Sauteéd Greens with Bacon

Prep time: 10 min Cook time: 20 min Serves: 2-3


¼ pound bacon, thinly sliced

1 Tablespoon sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

¾ pound greens (chard, broccoli raab, etc.)

¼ teaspoon salt

Juice of lemon half


  1. Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Cut bacon with a knife or scissors into thin strips and add to the pan. Cook to desired crispiness.

  2. Meanwhile, trim ends off the chard, cut in half lengthwise and slice crosswise.

  3. Remove the bacon from the skillet, reserving part of the fat. Add the sesame oil and garlic and sauteé until garlic is lightly browned. Add the salt and swiss chard and cook until wilted, but lightly crispy.

  4. Finish with the juice of a lemon half. Serve warm.
